Sylvester Peter (S. P.) Wange

DOB: December 6, 1866 in Gudbrandsdalen, Norway

DOD: January 31, 1956 in Clay County, Minnesota

S.P. Wange learned photography in the late 1880s with the availability of factory sensitized glass plates and photographed Hawley, Minnesota between 1893 and the 1950s. While his photos carry less technical focus than O. E. Flaten’s, the aspect of spontaneity adds a certain personal touch to his images.
